The BP525 narrow bandpass filter is a lens filter designed to pass light with a peak wavelength of 525 nm and a useful range between 495–555 nm, while blocking all other wavelengths.
It mounts directly on a machine vision lens using the standard filter thread.
You can choose from multiple thread sizes to match your lens, ensuring a secure fit and optimal performance in any machine vision setup.
How the BP525 Narrow Bandpass Filter Works
Narrow bandpass filters work by allowing only a specific portion of the light spectrum to pass while blocking all other wavelengths.
For the BP525 filter, light near 525 nm passes through with peak transmission above 90%, and the useful range between 495–555 nm maintains transmission above 80%.

Narrow Bandpass Filter Overview and Applications
The BP525 bandpass filter is designed to transmit light centered at 525 nm while blocking unwanted wavelengths outside its passband. This precise wavelength control enhances image contrast, color accuracy, and measurement reliability for a wide variety of optical systems.
By selecting a specific wavelength (for example 525 nm), the BP525 filter effectively becomes a ‘color’ filter for the monochrome imaging: it allows only the target color (green) to pass and suppresses its complementary and nearby wavelengths. Adding a color lens filter “works on a subtraction idea” — for instance, a green filter makes green shades stay bright while rendering complementary colors dark.
In practice, when you pair white-light or any broad-spectrum source with a BP525 filter, you are isolating only the precise band around 525 nm: the result is higher contrast, sharper object differentiation, fewer false reflections from ambient light, and improved image-stability. This is especially valuable in machine-vision inspections where subtle differences in material, color or surface need to be reliably detected under variable lighting conditions.

Compatibility with Lenses and Cameras
The BP525 filter can be mounted on the front of most machine vision lenses, as these lenses include a filter thread for attaching filters directly.
If you are using a C-mount lens on a GigE camera or USB3 camera, the filter can also be placed inside the C-mount connection instead of on the front of the lens.
This is useful when the lens does not have a front filter thread.
The filter is installed between the camera and lens and stays fixed in the optical path, keeping alignment stable and image quality consistent.
This makes the BP525 filter flexible for different setups and easy to integrate without changing your existing camera or lens.

Recently we purchased a camera with lens, and LED lights. We are not experienced with machine vision but the installation worked out fine. After installation on our laboratory we were surprised again of the high quality of the photos and the versatility of this system. (options in Galaxy viewer and integration in Python. Recently we had an issue with the software and the customer support was able to give us the relevant information to fix it within one day. The next time we need a camera we will not be looking to other suppliers but contact GeT Cameras immediately.

For a new product development there was a lot of price pressure. We needed a cheap camera. I called them and Caspar was providing great support. He even advised a cheaper camera than I had in mind. I was just surprised by the inhouse knowledge of get cameras about machine vision. Never expected this from a webshop. The image an built quality of the camera is also great. The camera feels and operates the same as our Basler cameras.

In the beginning I was sceptic because of the low prices, but support by email was great. They advise a lens and provided additional technical information. Unfortunately they don't offer a loan service, but I decided to try it. I had the cameras in house within 2 weeks and connection was easy. The SDK looks like the SDK from Basler so I felt directly comfortable with it. The camera and lens was a perfect match and now I'm able to read small DMC codes on large products with just a single camera.
